The HSC result publishes after certain duration of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) public exam conducted after completion the exam of higher secondary education. Students of 12th grade/class appear in these examinations.
The HSC result is also an equivalent to GCE A Level in England. After finishing the 11th and 12th class (grade) students participates for a nationwide public exam called HSC and if they succeed they get chance to admit into University for Undergraduate programs. The HSC Exam starts from April every year in Bangladesh. HSC Routine publishes 2 month ago before the exam.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) controls ten Education Boards of Bangladesh. Each Education board of Bangladesh controls the public exams such as Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level public examinations and each education board consist of information regarding Education Sector Development Program of Bangladesh.
The Boards are also responsible for the private sector educational institutes as well. The minister of the Ministry of Education (MoE) is Nurul Islam Nahid, MP.
Academic Grading System
The academic grading system has introduced first in Bangladesh in 2001 after replaced the divisional-marking system and continuing till now. All education boards have followed the grading system for SSC and HSC result publication is called Grade Point Average (GPA). The grading chart has given below:

HSC ReScrutiny Result
The regulatory commission of the education boards Bangladesh has permitted re-scrutiny process to recheck HSC result. The re-scrutiny process is also known as “Khata Challenge” or “Board Challenge” method. HSC ReScrutiny Result process has described as below:

There are ten Education Boards in Bangladesh as below:
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka: The Dhaka Education Board is located at Bakshibazar, Dhaka. It is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Mahabubur Rahman.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong: The Chittagong Education Board in progress its operation since 1995. It is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (SSC & HSC) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Comilla: The Comilla Education Board established in 1962 under the East Pakistan Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Ordinance. It is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Abdul Khaleque.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore: The Jessore Education Board is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Abdul Alim.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Barisal: It is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting JSC, SSC and HSC and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi: The Rajshahi Education Board is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Abul Kalam Azad.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sylhet: The Sylhet Education Board is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Momtaz Shamim.
- The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dinajpur, The Dinajpur Education Board is an autonomous organization controlled by the MoE which responsible for conducting public examinations (JSC, S.S.C and H.S.C) and for providing recognition of newly established non government institutions and for the control, supervision and developments of those institutions. The present chairperson of the board is Professor Ahmed Hossain.
- Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board: Bangladesh Madrashah Education Board or “Alia Madrasah Education Board” established in 1979. With the passage of time of madrasah education, in 1978 a humanities and science faculty were included in Alim level and in 1980, Fazil degree was given the standard of education of HSC level. In 1985 dakhil level was given the standard of education of SS. and in 1987 Alim level was given the standard of education of HSC.
- The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB): BTEB is a government board responsible for developing and regulating technical and vocational education throughout Bangladesh. The BTEB develops learning materials, sets the curriculum, grants affiliation to technical and vocational institutions, conducts examinations, governs admissions and awards certificates or diplomas.
