In order to win the game, the player has to have the lowest set of hands composed of five cards from his hands. At the end of the game, the player will have seven cards and out of seven he will have to choose five from them. The lowest possible poker hand in this game is Ace to five.
Before you play:
- Remember that the Ace in this game is not equivalent to one or any other magical powers. It’s the lowest card in the game with kings as the leader.
- Straight and Flush doesn’t count
- Maximum number of eight players are accepted to the game
- The ‘eight or better rule’ DO NOT apply on razz !
Before the card is distributed to each player, each player should place an ante in the common pot so that they can participate in the game.
3rd Street/Betting in the first round:
After the game has been set with the payment of ante of each player, cards are distributed in each player. In this round the player will have three cards, two facing down and one facing up. The one that face up is called the “door card”. The door card’s purpose is to determine who gets to go first , the player with the highest card will play first. If there are two cards with the same value, the ranking will be based on suit (spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds). Once the starting player has been determined, the players will have the choice of paying half of the low limit or the limit itself. All others follow suit.
Another card is given to each player, faced up. The first player that will have to act are those that have the lowest (changed) set of cards. If there are two players have the same value for the lowest card, the player that’s closest to the dealers left will have to act first.
Another card is given to each player, faced up. After the 4th street is completed, players will have to play this round the same as with the 4th street. The only difference is that the minimum bet is now the highest limit in the game.
Another faced up card is given to each player. Follows the same procedure for determining who gets to go first and even the debt.
The last seventh card is dealt face down. It will still follow the same procedure with the 5th and 6th street. The seventh street becomes crucial since it will be the hand before the showdown. Just in case eight players are still active after the 6th street, players will have to share a community cards placed in the middle.
If there is still more than one player left in the game, a showdown has to happen. Each player will have to show their cards to determine the winner. The person who bets last will be the first one to his cards. From that players point, the card revelation goes clockwise. As part of the strategy, you can also keep the card without sharing them to other winning players.
