People often come here for paint reviews, but they end up leaving with the tools necessary to be free from those for the rest of their lives. Wouldn’t it be nice if you were able to make a well informed decision on your own without having to rely on the opinions of biased writers? The fact of the matter is that there is not a “best paint ever.”
Each paint is made for a specific purpose and because of this they it’s difficult to compare them. Also, you have to realize that each situation has different factors that contribute to the outcome.
For example, if someone tells you that Glidden is better than Krylon because they painted their home with Glidden and their cabin with Krylon and the paint cracked, is that fair? You would need to really make sure it’s an accurate comparison.
It’s because of this that I found it difficult to trust reviewers. I personally don’t know if they are totally honest or secretly being paid off. So I set out to figure which paint was the best on my own, and I found something out that you might be very interested in.
The thing that I noticed is that whether you use Lowe’s custom paint (Valspar) or Home Depot’s brand (Behr), you’re going to get mixed results. The fact is, they both did a really good job overall. The other fact is that they both were not perfect.
At the end of the day, you’re going to realize that with paint it all depends on the surface you’re trying to cover (whether it is metal, concrete, wood, stucco, brick, or plastic) and the temperature outside when you set out to get your task done. Of course, if you do this indoors you have a little more control over the matter.
So instead of looking for the best quality, look for the best value for yourself. Then you have more control of color schemes, textures, whether you get acrylic or spray, and whether or not you need to use primer. At the end of the day, you’ll feel very empowered. And whatever you painted will be very beautiful.
