With a population of 391,495, New Orleans is the Largest City Of Louisiana. It is located in the southeastern region of the state, along the banks of the Mississippi River. Classified as a consolidated city-parish, the city of New Orleans and Orleans Parish have merged, have the same powers and responsibilities of both a city and a county, and share the same boundaries.

It also has a thriving research and development industry, as well as a growing technology industry.

According to the U.S. Census in 2013, it was estimated that Shreveport was home to 200,327 residents, making it the third-largest city in Louisiana. Shreveport was founded in 1836 by the Shreve Town Company and became incorporated as a city in 1871. The city is home to the Barksdale Army Air Field, also a national landmark.
