The State Capital of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The City Phoenix was the last home for Arizona’s Territorial government until Arizona became a state in 1912. Arizona State Capital Phoenix Is Located on the Salt River in “the valley of the sun”. Phoenix has ancient roots, evidenced by the Pueblo Grande ruins (occupied by native Americans between 700 AD and 1400 AD).  Phoenix Is The most populous city of Arizona, with 1,626,000 people as of 2017.

State Capital of Arizona is also the fifth most populous city in the United States, and the most populous American state capital. State Capital of Arizona Is the only state capital with a population of more than one million residents. There’s a modern and extensive irrigation system surrounding the capital city and it follows a pattern of irrigation canals dug by agricultural communities that existed in the area as long ago as 20,000 years into the past, according to the Office of the Governor.

Piestewa Peak, a mountain in Phoenix, used to be named Squaw Peak. Arizona State Capital Phoenix was renamed in honor of Army Pfc. Lori Piestewa, who was killed in 2003 in Iraq. She is thought to be the first Native American woman killed in combat for the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Interior.

According to legend, Phoenix gets its name from Cambridge-educated pioneer Darrell Duppa, who saw the ruins and prehistoric canals of the Hohokam and believed another civilization would rise from the ashes. According to data compiled by the National Climatic Data Center, Phoenix basks in the sunshine more often than any other major metropolitan area in the U.S. The sun shines on Phoenix during 85 percent of its daylight hours.
